What are three words to describe yourself?
Creative, curious, connected
What was your very first business or creative idea? Did that make any money?
My first business venture was a triple play service provider focused on IPTV, Internet and voice services in Prague. It was fairly successful and after a number of years it was sold to a foreign investor.
What was your biggest challenge when you started your first business?
Having to build the infrastructure for the IPTV because it was the first of its kind in the Czech Republic.
What was the best advice in life or business you've ever received?
If you don’t do it nobody else will.
Which three people, famous or not famous, dead or alive, would you most like to invite to a dinner party? Why?
Elon Musk, Richard Branson and Leonardo Da Vinci – because they are all visionaries in a wide range of different fields.
What makes a founder successful?
Money and how they treat their staff.
What do you do in order to keep on learning and developing?
Read and continue to be influenced by people who are already successful.
Which resources are you recommending to first time entrepreneurs?
Get a mentor who is experienced in the area you would like to go into but also try and learn everything you can from everyone you meet.
What's the biggest risk you've ever taken?
I try not to take too big risks. When I do it’s calculated.
What advice would you give to your younger self?
Expand your horizons and discover as much as possible while you can.
What's something you don't want to regret when you're older?
I don’t want to regret anything but if I had to say something I would say wasting time.
What's your favourite book?
Covey’s books are a very good place start.
What character traits of other entrepreneurs have impressed you?
The stubbornness of Steve Jobs.
Do you believe successful ventures require something meaningful?
There should be a meaning and it should be “is it making a world better place” but in the modern world I would say there are a lot of companies without this meaning.
What's something that first time founders should avoid at all costs?
Not accepting advice and thinking you know it all are the two biggest downfalls.
Why are you getting involved with Best of X?
To support the Czech and Prague startup community. Also to share my experience and knowledge.
Final question - where can people find you online and why would you like to be contacted?
